How to Connect to Ford Bluetooth®
Take calls, send texts and even queue up your favorite playlists.

Ford SYNC® is an advanced infotainment system on new Ford models that uses Bluetooth® wireless technology to pass information between your phone and vehicle. With Ford SYNC®, you can use voice commands to take calls, send texts and even queue up your favorite playlists while on the go. In order to make the most of the Ford SYNC® system, you first need to connect your vehicle to your phone. The Ford SYNC® setup process is simple -- just complete the following steps to connect your phone to Ford SYNC®.

Ford SYNC® Setup Instructions

To connect your phone to Ford Bluetooth®, follow these simple instructions:

  1. Turn on your phone, Ford vehicle and the radio/SYNC® system.
  2. Enable Bluetooth® on your phone. Make sure that it's discoverable to other devices!
  3. On your SYNC® infotainment system, press the "Phone" button to access the Phone Menu. If no phones are paired with your vehicle, "Please add a phone" will appear. Press "Add."
  4. The Ford SYNC® system will prompt you with "Search for SYNC on your device and select SYNC once it's found." Search for SYNC® on your phone's Bluetooth® menu and select it. A six-digit PIN will display on the SYNC® screen for three minutes as the system searches for the same number from your phone.
  5. Confirm that the PIN displayed on the Ford SYNC® system matches what's on your phone. If no PIN appears on your mobile device, you may be prompted to enter the PIN on your phone. Enter the number shown on the SYNC® system. Once successfully paired, a message will display confirming that your phone is connected to SYNC®.
  6. After your phone is paired and connected with Bluetooth®, Ford SYNC® will display a Phone Menu that will allow you to access your phone book, text messages and more.
